The innovative modular storage and retrieval machine from Vectron allows for the handling of a wide range of loads and conveyed goods of 35 to 1,500 kg in heights of 2 to 30 m. The intelligent modular system serves both container and pallet units with a wide range of service requirements. The load handling equipment can easily be adapted to the customer’s requirements. The unit control system, which is perfectly aligned with the modular system, enables the highest performance and the maximum availability of the system.

 
 
 
 

The modular system is unique in terms of its concept, which it also demonstrates through its components and function. The combination of a lightweight design, innovative drive systems and an end-to-end energy management system promises a long service life, low maintenance costs and a high degree of efficiency. The innovative SRM system construction kit which combines the experience of mini-load and pallet trucks and creates a unique system construction kit.

The lightweight mast structure, for which a patent application has also been filed, allows for new maximum heights for mini-loads as well as solid operating heights for pallet racking equipment of up to 30 metres, with the maximum mast rigidity and the best driving dynamics. The need for an anti-oscillation drive is completely eliminated, which considerably simplifies the maintenance and commissioning.

The consistent lightweight construction achieves a mass reduction of 30% in comparison with standard SRMs. The entire development cycle was accompanied by FE calculations. All the relevant components were optimised in terms of their weight, stiffness and the arising vibration frequencies, taking the arising load cases into account. Considerable importance was attributed to the fatigue strength of all the dynamically stressed parts, including compliance with the corresponding safety requirements.

Several decades of experience in the development of storage equipment paired with proven engineering, the latest technologies and fresh ideas have resulted in the unique and highly flexible SRM modular system.

    With these measures, energy savings of up to 30% are achievable, resulting in annual cost savings of several thousand euros during ongoing operations. This also reduces the peak output, so that for new systems, a lower power input is sufficient.

    The storage and retrieval machine can also feed excess energy back into the grid or store it in buffer capacitors during the braking and/or lowering of the lifting system.

  • Innovative screw connections

    The absence of weld seams means that weld seam breakages on the mast, trolley or running rail can be avoided. The use of screwed components allows for the storage and retrieval machine to pass through a standard 200 x 90 cm door. Therefore, when installing the SRM or replacing the equipment, it is no longer necessary to open the building envelope.

    Our longstanding experience in the development, maintenance and operation of these systems enables us to dimension all components on an optimum basis.

    Our intelligent control software combined with specially developed measurement technology means we can determine and evaluate the forces acting on impellers, toothed belts, etc. during operations. This allows us to carry out data-based preventive maintenance and the preventive replacement of key wearing parts.

SRM for containers

The storage and retrieval machine is also available as a “MINI-LOAD” version for the handling of containers.

 

This system can store a container which weighs up to 70 kg, and the load can be picked up using either a telescopic system or drawing technology. It also offers all the advantages of the modular system.
